Description

This offering of MBSR will be focused on supporting the personal and professional mindfulness practices of Psychedelic Therapists. The class will follow the formal MBSR curriculum meeting weekly for 8 weeks with an online retreat Sunday March 5, 2023. Home practice will be assigned each week and will be supported by recorded practices. Students should expect to commit to daily practice.

At its core, MBSR is based on systematic and intensive training in mindfulness meditation and mindful hatha yoga. The curriculum, originally developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn, Ph.D., is an expression and reflection of this core principle. In continual development the curriculum is designed to guide MBSR program participants in the “how” of learning to practice, integrate, and apply mindfulness in their everyday lives. The primary intention of the MBSR curriculum is to create a structured pathway to relieve suffering and increase wellbeing for people facing a host of challenges arising from a wide range of medical and psychological conditions and the demands and stressors inherent in the everyday lives of human beings.

A limited number of Diversity Fund scholarships are available, please complete this application, in addition to the course application.

The experience I have had so far with Fluence has been above and beyond what I was expecting. I began this journey without a clear goal as to how I will use it in my practice. Fluence has opened so many more avenues to how to use this knowledge and the support and connection that I have gained is so much more extensive than I had imagined.

Participating in the Fluence certificate program has been an enlivening experience. I have been practicing as a licensed therapist for 25 years and these courses include relevant topics and approaches that have been long overdue in continuing education. I am grateful to the small classes and highly qualified instructors teaching ‘contemporary’ healing approaches during a time where mental health needs are a national priority.

I really enjoyed this Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction course. It gave me a good foundation for my own meditation practice so that I may share my experience with clients. I look forward to incorporating the principles I learned into my practice.
