Event Description

Fluence is offering free, live streamed presentation by Dr. Jeffrey Guss of the central ideas in Andy Letcher’s 2007 generative and rich paper “Mad Thoughts on Mushrooms:  Discourse and Power in the Study of Psychedelic Consciousness”*.

This broadly drawn perspective on the language and context of contemporary psychedelic consciousness has French philosopher Michel Foucault’s notion of discourse analysis at its core, and helps us understand how knowledge, money, power, authority, science, gender, animism and spirit each jockey for attention, pride of place and an individual voice as part of the contemporary psychedelic renaissance.

Please join us for this free online talk at 7:00 pm on April 16, 2020, which will be followed by a period of audience Q&A.  Click "Get Tickets" above sign up and receive instruction on how to access the presentation.
