Director of Learning Programs

Dr. Brittany Alperin serves as Director of Learning Programs at Fluence, where she oversees curriculum development and the effectiveness, rigor, and reliability of Fluence's training systems. Her work sits at the intersection of educational design, behavioral science, product development, and the responsible advancement of psychedelic-assisted therapy training.

She is a cognitive and clinical neuroscientist and earned her B.A. in psychology and neuroscience from Hampshire College and her Ph.D. in Behavioral Neuroscience from Oregon Health & Science University.

Her career has spanned academia, industry, and the emerging psychedelic education space. She held faculty positions in psychology at the University of Richmond and Lawrence University, teaching cognitive psychology and neuroscience and running the Thought and Emotion Lab where they studied the relationship between aspects of thought and mental health and wellbeing. After leaving academia, she worked at Boston Scientific, a fortune 500 medical device company, and worked as a Senior Project Lead in Global Medical Affairs building an enterprise-wide educational program on evidence strategy. Following her work at Boston Scientific, she found the opportunity to bring together her grounding in academic science and the rigor of working and building programs within a regulated medical industry and apply it to the psychedelic field, a space she had long been passionate about. She served as Director of Education at the Oregon Psychedelic Institute, where she helped build and refine the psilocybin facilitation training curriculum, then went on to serve as Director of Curriculum at Unlimited Sciences, a psychedelic research and education nonprofit, where she created and launched the organization's first education platform.

At Fluence, Brittany brings her passion for evidence-based education to a field she believes is poised to reshape mental health care.

Brittany lives in Los Angeles with her partner, young son, and their dog Banjo. Outside of work, she enjoys foraging for natural dye materials, spinning her own yarn, and weaving, with hopes of one day owning the fiber animals to complete the loop.
